Public Program during the 12th European AIDS Conference in Cologne

Awards Ceremony of the European AIDS Video Clip Contest “clip & klar europe 09” with associated panel “HIV Prevention in Film – The Challenges and the Possibilities” 

 

Conference participants are cordially invited to the awards ceremony in the framework of the European AIDS Video Clip Contest which will be followed by a reception.

A prominent European jury comprised of leading members from both the AIDS prevention fields as well as the European film and media scenes has selected the winners from both categories 'Best national T.V. and cinema social advertisement campaign against AIDS' and 'Best AIDS video clip by a filmmaker or film student'. The winners will be announced during this special event.

Congress participants are very welcome to join this special event, which will be followed by a reception. Refreshments will be provided.
"clip & klar" is an annual creative competition of the German Federal Centre for Health Education (BZgA). It aims to raise and strengthen the awareness surrounding the prevention of HIV infection. The motto of "clip & klar europe 09" is "HIVisible" as it is the competition's goal to reinforce the visibility of the topic of HIV and AIDS to the public via the presentation of T.V. and cinema social advertisements produced by and in different European countries.




In the run-up to the World AIDS day on December 1st, the 12th European AIDS Conference/EACS takes place in Cologne. Until now the main focus of the European AIDS Conference laid on the medical therapy and attendance. Therefore the prevention should get a stronger emphasis.

For this reason Aidshilfe Cologne presents an Exhibition of European prevention posters, supported by Bundeszentrale fuer gesundheitliche Aufklärung (Federal Center for Health Education) and Deutsche AIDS-Hilfe. The Exhibition consists of 45 prevention posters from 17 European countries, which can be seen in Cologne downtown and on the 12th European AIDS Conference/EACS.







By this exhibition the central elements of prevention should be dicussed at the conference and in public. The European perspective of the poster exhibition gives the chance to call attention to HIV beyond the normal messages of prevention.

A correspondending brochure is available on the congress an in the participating shops in Cologne doewtown for free.

According to the poster exhibition a catalogue can be ordered at Deutsche AIDS-Hilfe in Berlin starting in the middle of December 2009.
